Airfield Trackdays
Hiya guys,
Was planning to attend some of these airfield trackdays to get a feel for the CSL when it is pushed hard. Hopefully will also be able to have a play on the open airfield for kicks! Anyone tried or heard of these before? I will definetly be going since its so close to where I live atm. http://www.motorsport-events.com/ (Looks at Events Tab) They also offer 1 to 1 courses with a Chap called Ed Moore... Cheers, V. |

NO NO NO NO, I attended an raf airfield trackday in september, it ruined the front of my car completely. Stonechip city. I will never go on airfield trackday in anything which costs more than £5k. Dont do it, you will cry |

Apart from stone chips you'll also ruin all your tyres as the usual concrete surface is very harsh on rubber. You'll end up a Rainy Face Man if U do. I wouldn't even take my MK2 Golf GTi, let alone the CSL.

Oh wow ok, close call avoided there!
Whats my best bet being in the somerset area? Castle Combe is about 20 mins away Next would be either Llandow in Wales or then Silverstone or Brands Hatch... |

Llandow tarmac isnt great and circuit is very short and not what id call free of targets (big earth mounds and armco)

The two best first timer tracks are Bedford and Anglesea, both a jaunt I know, but make it an overnighter with a pal or something? If it helps, I'm at Bedford on 16th November with Circuit Days, I am more than happy to help you out/advise etc, and you get some free tuition with Circuit Days too |

Hazy is correct, Castle Combe is bumpy as hell (well it was two years ago).
Yes I'd also recommend Bedford. HUGE run-off areas and without the dreaded kitty litter (gravel traps) which can also make a mess of the paint work. Best M5 powered
