170 seems about right based on experience.

Any faster than that and things like wind direction/speed, fuel, gradient, temperature, road surface, drafting effect, condition of the bearings, tyres etc all add up.

Standard size road tyres by the way, not cups
Favourable weather conditions and a down-hill stretch of Autobahn will allow the car to rev further, especially if it has higher flowing exhaust on, which will give a few more bhp . 7000rpm isn't even peak power, so drafting another car would allow it to go faster as well .

If you were brave enough you could follow the hole a GTR made all the way to over 190mph LOL, as it is geared to 204mph at 8000rpm. However, without this, it would need over 600bhp (@ 8000rpm) to achieve that speed unassisted .

Of course they all play a factor in what the car can achieve, but 170mph is only 6850rpm in top, so if that is the rpm you have seen, then that is as fast as you have gone. Forget the speedo, just make a note of the peak rpm and work it back to get the true road speed.

And nothing changes the fact that 7000rpm is 174mph .
