Wondering if anyone's compared which sound deadening was removed to be exact from the CSL compared to the regular M3 model. Can anyone run a reverse part number look up, on what sound deadening is missing from the CSL. I'm looking at shedding some extra weight off the car.

Inside or under the car??

Basically if you pulled the full interior out there's not a single piece of sound deadening stuck or glued to the chassis.

Apologies to Craig for dragging up your old part out thread ... see his photos when he stripped his car:

It looks like there is still some sound deadening when comparing the realoem parts list between the standard M3, and the CSL. That's why I ask, is it seems like there is some still present in the car. I may just decide to pull all of it out though.

Realoem isn't always correct. Over the years I've noticed a few discrepancies myself.

The only one that is still there is the one in the driver side foot well (RHD car)

Craig, apologies for stealing your photos - if you want them removed let me know and I'll remove them.

Thank you, I'm gonna be tackling this here shortly. I'm a bit worried how much road noise it really reduces, but once I get the airbox I'm sure I won't care about road noise.
