I've done it to my cars too. On my current GT3 I have had it put on the bonnet, front wings around the headlights, LED DRLs, mirrors, sills, behind the wheel arches to stop rock flip ups from the tyres, rear wings in front of the wheels, A pillars, leading edge of the roof.

It is very good, on my old 996t the dealer damaged the front bar which marked the film, but didn't damage the paint, so it saved a repaint which runs all the risks of a poor job and different colour.

I'd run it every time for sure. It is much better than a repaint as the original paint is always best and matches the finish of the rest or the car as it is original!

Yes the sellers in the uk dont want to sell the kit unless they install it

It was invented by the US military to protect the helicopter blades in the desert from damage by the sand hitting the edge

There is also a similar stuff for windscreens now too by Clearplex. http://www.clearplex.com/ It is good if you track your car a lot or do a lot of highway miles.

Hmmm, not sure about that, HATE the distortion through Ford heated windscreens (hire cars). Yup good theory tho', exagerating a little but the windscreen in the csl is almost frosted bathroom glass when it rains [61k miles]... can feel a breakage coming on

My car has genuine Amourfend fitted to the front section of the bonnet, front bumper, headlights, rear wheel arches, strip below lights & front section of the front wings. It's was fitted by Amourfend themselves mid '09. When I bought the car the stuff was a bit marked but polished out with normal quality polish. Even the edge of the film is difficult to see when you've carefully cleaned it and the sheets are perfectly cut around the bonnet badge etc.. The invoice shows £616.46 all in with a 15% discount. Installation cost was £270+vat.
I reckon it's great stuff
