I've driven numerous laps @ the Ring on OEM brake set up with upgraded pads, brake lines & fluid like I mentioned before and it was OK... not perfect by any means but just about OK as there aren't too many places where you really need to brake that hard @ the Ring however by upgrading to my BREMBO set up it then meant I could brake that much later (at the few places where U really do need to brake) with much greater feel & finesse and without the fear of OEM set ups inherited fade and " will they? won't they? " attitude Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending CSLs OEM brake set up at all, it's inadequate for the application I'm just suggesting that it can be OK with slight upgrades to pads, lines & brake fluid.
The main deal breaker is when U start doing UK Track Days (which I guess U won't be doing) that really shows just how awful the OEM brake set up is on the CSL so for that reason alone, a decent BBK set up is a must.

I ran my standard brakes at Anglesey with decent fluid, the standard suspension on track showed its weakness before the brakes for me.

I did get the brakes to start fading after a good few laps, but it was manageable.

Standard discs, hoses, carbotech pads and decent fluids should make a huge improvement over stock.

The above will be more than enough for road and ring.

D'oh that's what I've been saying all along Shim I too run the midlly improved OEM set up with PF pads, ATF SBR fluid & SS lines for the first few months prior to my BREMBO BBK and not had any problems on the road.

No, you said the weak soot was the pads in your first post, but IMHO it's the cooling, not just pads. You did correct yourself above however

Why is it then that neither U or I had the cooling issues when running the upgraded after market pads & better brake fluid in the OEM single piston callipers ?
Are U suggesting that just better brake fluid (which can cope with higher temps) will be OK with CSL OEM "crap" pads ?
BTW I said " It's mainly the CSL OEM pads that are crap "

You don't say ?!?!
If you have very deep pockets then AP Racing BBK is the only way covering every imaginable braking scenario for you.
