If the car isn't moving and isn't in dyno mode then no, it doesn't, or at least mine didn't. Dyno mode exists to fix this very problem!

That would be pretty handy at snetterton where they make you db test at 6k revs

I don't know the exact RPM figure but it is around 6k, might be noisier on the limit than just below it though!

but if thye say 6k revs, of course we only do 5k revs.

I have only ever given them 2/3 rds of the revs
