Why do they have more power? Do they run a different manifold as that is the only difference made possible by having the steering wheel on the correct side.

Yes, the manifold of cylinders 4-6 is different between LHD/RHD.
I don't know what is the number but in the older days the RHD were usually 5bhp down because of the different exhaust manifold.

5 bhp I can believe from the manifold, RHD manifolds are far more restrictive than the LHD ones, look at the LHD Supersprint and Epic manifolds compred to the RHD supersprint one, far better. Looking forward to getting a better LHD manifold on mine

Tom > We confirmed today that the CSL does NOT have more welding points on the chassis neither less under carriage undercoating.

Some times BMW sell particular items as a complete build up unit rather than individual items and list them differently for different cars - but it is actually the same as the standard M3 item.

The only items in the above that is actually different to the standard M3 are:

12517833366 - Wiring harness, engine grbx. module (1.83kg) // Normal M3 with SMG 1.87kg
25162282560 - shift knob alcantara http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/25162282560/
31332282508 - bumpstop
33532282503 - rear damper adapter
51477896369 - floor covering front http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/51477896369/
51477896370 - floor covering rear http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/51477896370/
61116975073 - main wiring harness http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/61116975073/ (16.51kg) // Normal M3 18.93kg
61672695531 - Head lamp cleaning device container http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/61672695531/
61677892701 - Windshield cleaning container http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/61677892701/
64546928033 - Compression shroud http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/64546928033/

Interesting about the interior carpet - it seems it is LHD cars only - which leads me to suspect that the lighter carpet only came in the LHD cars and not the RHD cars - the reason - the RHD cars have the same carpet as the standard M3.

But awesome program!! I did it all manually originally when I compiled the list.

Tom, are you adding these too ?

BTW, no info about color codes.
There is a lack of knowledge at BMW M.
I asked for the chassis stiffness, they didn't know the number.

Having said that. I somehow doubt what they said.
I personally think we need to count the welding points, the ones visible and compare them to a normal M3.
