Default Brake Question (CSL cup / Alcons)

Strange one (or maybe not)

when driving for any period, first press on the brake pedal produces quite a lot of travel. Subsequent presses on the pedal in the same braking action and the brake seem to bite higher up the travel.

I like the bite point to be quite high and it seems a little strange. When pressing on or on track, i find myself braking before a corner, so that when i want to brake properly, the bite point is higher (which gives me more confidence).

I thought it might be down to the fluid, but having changed it (now back to running superblue), nothing's changed.

Any thoughts? It's almost like the pads are moving away from the discs in between braking.

Basically what happens is the pads do move out slightly and because of the piston size, the first press can feel slightly spongy, it all depends on pad thickness.

I bled my brakes again after they were done and we got a tiny bit of air out. I think a part of it is down to them being fussy about what sequence you use when bleeding the brakes.

I am more impressed with the kit this time after doing the bleeding process very attentative. They felt superb at Spa.

Which nipple do you bleed from 1st?

Generally the left...

They came on the car, so not sure on the correct procedure, will have a look and then give it a go. BMW did it last time.

They will not have bled it correctly. Me and my business partner where very methodical with the process and they felt the best they have ever done.

Not a surprise. I'll take a look and give it a go.

Thanks.
