Default I know this will divide opinion, so here goes..

Had my CSL since September. Had an E46 M3 before for a few years as the family car, wife then got a company car and I bought a 997 C2S, which was unreliable and I couldn't get on with.

Love my CSL, much lighter and tighter than standard E46. Brakes are terrible, but I've got APs on order and am booked in for 'Ring trip in March. Can't fault it. However...

...this weekend, looking at a (slightly leggy) GT3 RS. It's right on the cusp of affordability, has no back seats for my boys and will probably cost me a fortune in maintenance. But it's tempting. What to do?

The CSL is a clever bit of kit, but the 911 is far more emotive IMO. And that carries a price tag.

Agree with that - but the question is, is it worth paying the (substantial) extra. Can run the CSL at a reasonable cost and residuals are rock solid. RS will be a different story.
