Desperate for help from those who have installed an AP Racing BBK - beer on offer!
Chaps (evening CSLGirl) - I really need your help.
I am trying to fit an AP Racing BBK to the front of the CSL this evening and am completely stuck - please help! The original front discs are attached to the hub with 2 of these screws per side: I used to have a Stoptech kit that used these original crews to attach the discs. However, these do not fit the holes on the AP discs, yet no alternative screws are provided. The holes for these screws all line up ok, but are too big for these original screws: Am I missing something? Should the kit have come with AP-specific screws for this or am I being a dullard? Hi,
Place your discs on the centre hub, align the bolt holes in the discs with the hubs behind, put on the wheels and bolt up. The Screws are only to stop the discs rotating while you fit the wheels on. If you had wheel studs you would throw away the disc locating screws anyway. Regards, The Gorilla. |

Just tighted the screws fully down this will then help to locate the disc, you bolt looks like it has seen better day's though

Studs is one option, but unfortunately not one I can do right now. I'm not worried about the disc moving once the wheel's on, just that it'll fall off when I take the wheel off the adjust the ride height, for example. You're right- the screw is knackered. Made me really nervous getting it out. It came out ok, but there's no way it's going back in like that. It was done up so tight, which makes no sense as the disc is held in place by 5 dirty great wheel bolts. It turns out that the answer is that AP use the same screws as on the OEM rear discs. Genius. I now have one screw per corner. Thanks for your help. I owe you some beer. Failing that, a nice warm cuppa at the next trackday... |
