Righto, probably going to sell the CSL, I'm just bored with pushing road cars (ie > 1000Kg) around tracks, Spa being a good reminder of how unsuited road cars are
![]() Its a good nick CSL with the following mods: Supersprint full exhaust system Alcon/CSL Cup brake system Intrax 1K2 Suspension Turner Limiter Kit Billet seat mounts / Sparco Pro2000 on Recaro Rails Schroth Harnesses Safety Devices rear cage 9" x 18" TD 1.2 (spacers on rear), same 285 tyres all round in terms of trackday suitability, about as good as you need. The question is - should I put it back to standard (bar the exhaust and brakes cos I have no std items) - ie refit the csl seats and interior, 19" csl wheels, csl suspension and sell the parts......or just sell as is ? Its in good nick, I had UB sort out anything which needed sorted and whilst its done some track time its been well cared for with regular oil/box fluid changes etc. Even had the wheel retrimmed ;-) 55k miles so not quite a high miler although no garage queen. No accidents etc. What do you reckon in terms of value with and without the extras? I'm wondering if the cage/seats/stripped interior actually devalue the car ie the perfect combo would be the car on its CSL wheels (with the other wheels included in sale), intrax, supersprint and alcons and the original interior/seats refitted. Ironically the cage is an attention-to-deal UB fit so worth a lot to someone who wants that...but I fear not many do... thoughts ? |

Dont know how the market is over in Britain but here it's always better to part out before selling the car. Due to the fact that usually no one is gonna pay anywhere near what you paid for your mods. Usually expect 50 percent value from used items typically if they are in good shape. Try to sell the car as is, if you can't for a higher price then part it out return it to stock and sell it that way. It would suck though to have to rebuy the csl interior if you don't have it.

Standard car would have wider appeal and prob sell quicker, but would be worth trying to sell it as is for a few weeks first in the event there is anothwr DUnCan out there wanting a prepped car. Save the time and hassle of doing it yourself !

As Yanto says......not many buyers at the best of times, so if you leave her caged etc you'll need tl be lucky to sell it in 6 months, unless you can persuade yours mates or you chance upon a buyer who WANs a Ring toy. Funny how buyers even if they want a Ring toy, still want an OeM car and do it themselves.
I think best value to split and sell OeM. I might have those Team Dynamics off yer, but not those cheesey Dunlips..... ![]()
