Temperature warning lights ?
have just discovered (4 days into ownership) that the temperature warning lights on the rev counter map to the oil temperature on the CSL. On my previous M3 they mapped to the water temperature.
Is this an SMG thing ? Or a CSL thing ? Whatever the answer it makes so much more sense to monitor the oil temp ........ |

It appears it is a CSL feature, however, the lights in my CSL go out suspiciously quickly. I would say, just wait for the oil temp to get to 75 and then you can rev the car more readily.

have been watching mine like a hawk each morning and it's bang on the money. Last light doesn't go out until 70-ish degrees. Takes between 4 and 7 miles, sometimes a tad more.
This is how all cars should be. Telling you when it's safe for the engine to be exercised. Love it |

I take mine for a good run most weekend as on my journey they never go out as it's only around 4 miles.

That's how it should be, when the engine oil is fully warmed up (and the rest of the CSL up to temperature, I presume) At that moment U can safely "Go & Play" with the Revs |
