Brakes!?
This is my first post on here so first I'll say Hi to everyone!!
I'm hoping to be in the market for a CSL in the next 6 months or so, havent driven one yet though, and have been looking at the cars currently available. I've already Registered with another Forum, and asked lots of questions on there. One thing people seen kean on is AP brakes. I know AP are good brakes but has anybody fitted, or thinking of fitting anything else? The reason I ask is that I know of a guy who has RS6/Gallardo 8 Pots on the Front of his car and Boxster S front Calipers on the rear. I know one of his friends through him working at a Porsche Specialist I used to use and he says the car stops on a 5pence. Somebody posted on the mtorque and they were about to fit the same set-up. Coming from a 964RS I am used to good brakes and this will be one of the first things I change if need be. Thanks in advance P.S. Couldnt use my usual Username for Forums as I clicked on the wrong option regarding being over 13 or not....only just over it - by 20 years!! Ooops |

Hispec really are nasty nasty nasty nasty. Possibly the worst quality you could put on.

Neither. One of my friends does a lot of brake repairs for motorsport or tuning outfits (skimming, refurbs etc). It seems the quality of workmanship is very poor on the hispec stuff, which may present itself as a problem to the driver, not just the person fitting it. His view is that they are the worst out of all the different makes he sees.
Each to their own though eh |

How about getting brackets made and fitting something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MEWA:IT&ih=016 I know some people will say dont use other Brands but thats just daft if they are a good/better than that offered by BM. I'd be interested in fitting some Porsche Big Reds or something like the Ebay ones above. I have experience of Porsche brakes (last couple of cars were Porsche) and they are superb...never fade, always reliable and great stopping power. Should easily be able to pick a Full set up from a breaker like www.Porsch-apart.co.uk Either 993 Turbo Brakes, Cayenne Turbo Brakes or any that are the 6 pot front and 4 pot rear. |

the kit comes with performance friction discs
and they are some of the best discs on the Market there are a few people with AP kits that now use this disc as they are better than the AP discs But each to there own |

I've said it before but I'll say it again: "Eurghh. Why would you want Audi and Porker parts on your BMW CSL?" |
