Fitting a K&N Induction kit to a standard M3?
has anyone fitted one of these and have you experienced a loss in torque, some people have said fitting induction kits to the standard m3 engine does not provide positive results?

The Yanks reported loss of power and torque and constant stalling issues with the K& N kit (when it first came out though) - Perhaps look at the Gruppe M copy or the AFE kit? Those apparently make power albeit in single digits.

The yanks get problems with power due to heat soak, I highly doubt that we would get it over here because even if the engine heats are the same as the yanks, the air were sucking in isn't nowhere near as hot. |

A heat shield/shroud is most probably a good idea in any case and will help to alleviate the issue: My E36 version:
