Anyone drove the new V8 M3? How do they compare to the CSL?

I drove one before a CSL - had one on order from main dealer and withdrew the order after driving it. If you like the hardcore and raucous nature of the CSL then I don't think the new M3 will be as enjoyable.
However for an everyday proposition it is probably better than the CSL. But I doubt it would be anywhere near as fun on the track... |

As above really...very fast car and a great everyday drive...but not as involving as a CSL...didn't give a big smile like the CSL either......such a shame there will be no CSL version.

Driven one. Build quality is far better, V8 pulls awesome, noise is OK.
Not a patch on a CSL though. It has no character. Its just a 3door E60M5 IMO. |

I looked before getting the CSL and drove one back to back with an E46 M3 and they are like night and day. The E9x is undoubtedly a great car with a phenomenal engine.
Totally different proposition to the CSL though. IMO the saloon is the perfect compromise if you need 4 doors. Mark |
