Yep 2 years, it is "held" against my classic line policy so need to check if this means it won't expire. Who is everyone else using?

I'm confused. I thought no claims years went up with every year you have been a good boy/girl. Never heard of no claims bonus expiring.

It's because classic line policy is a classic car insurance policy so they don't give you no claims. As no claims are valid for 2 years if I reinsure with them I run the risk of losing the no claims I've built up. I did ask for it to be held against the policy so need to check how long I can do this.

Just trying to obtain insurance for another car. Classic car insurance no claims bonus not recognised hence no discount. Typing this while listening to some crap recording while hanging on the line with some other broker. Sure they do this to rack up your phone bill.

They will only provide a letter quoting 5 years max no claim. Other insurance companies do not recognise no claims bonus from classic car type policies Brokers & insurance companies will not use the central data base to check you have not had a claim. Basically I am having to pay more because the no claims from classic is not recognised and my previous insurer will also only quote a max of five years no claims. This seems to me a scam on their behalf to increase premiums and deter one from moving to another insurance company. |
