Hey Guys,
I'm from the States and I've replicated the CSL (not totally). I'm having an issue with my Brand New Snorkel flap and I don't know what to do. I installed it for the first time and it was in the closed position. I'm in non-sport mode, at a complete stop/low speeds, the flap flipped open upon start up. Now, it is stuck in the open position no matter what the rpms are. In sport mode, the flap goes from the open position to closed at 3500 rpms. It's doing the exact opposite thing it's supposed to do. This leaves the engine to choke on the highway. I've taken off the actuator and started the car. It spins in the direction that opens the flap, and never in the direction to close. I've taken off the actuator, and closed the flap by hand, but I can't put back on the actuator as the bearing doesn't line up with the flap. Any help will be greatly appreciated. My car detail/relevant mods are below: 2005 M3 Jet Black/Imola ZCP SMG - mileage 162k New Karbonius 1:1 CSL airbox New OEM snorkel w/ flap (manufactured 2014) CSL Map sensor CSL air rail 288/280 Schrick cams DLC coated followers Supersprint V1 stepped headers Supersprint sec 1 w/ cats OEM sec 2 Scorza exhaust Custom dyno tuned OEM 3.62 diff |

Use the GT1 and run a flap operation test (under expert menu) - You have to run it twice so it knows which way is closed and which way is open.
If that doesn't work your potentiometer (the one with the three pin plug) is faulty - or your wiring for the flap actuator is reversed. To spin the actuator you just put 12V to it and reverse it if you want it spinning the other way - if you need to correct its orientation so it lines up with the bearing. |

In tool32 there's a job called "adapt_geraeuschklappe" that does the same thing as the DIS function.

Car looks good and as for the flap - just remove it. The majority of owners on here, including myself, don't have it fitted

Does this mean that I have to download INPA and us Tool32 within it? I'm so lost with all of this stuff, my apologies in advance. |

Yes you need to download all those tools in order to check the flap operation
