Hi guys
The paint on my wheels is starting to wear off (common problem I understand on the CSL alloys!) in certain places and so I thinking about the possibility of having the wheels refurbished. I would be looking to get these done in the standard colour, but am slightly concerned that the finish and/or colour will not be the same as the original. Has anyone had any experience of having there alloys refurbed/powdercoated? Your help would be appreciated.... |

Cheers for that Mark, I'm in Glasgow so Edinburgh is not an issue, would rather travel a bit to get the job done properly. I will give Robert a buzz and see what says.
Out of interest have you had some of your wheels refurbed by him? |

fergusgo,
I had mine done by a boy in Stirling. Initially I thought it was sh1t hot but the 1st time I took the wheels off to clean them, I could not remove the dirt from the inside on the rim. I could also see the guys finger prints where he'd been lifting them etc. Turned out, he'd baked the wheel after painting but never bothered to clean the inside before baking ![]() And then, after a trackday last year, the wheels became so hot that the paint started blistering from the only wheel that I know has been refurbed and has now flaked off a wee bit. I think I might be looking for someone decent too soon. Just a few things to be wary off, Baz |
