If you don't want it covered in carbon you can repair it with carbon - I did this with a spare one I had (roughly grind down the inside behind the crack, mix epoxy, lay two layers of carbon fiber 1x1 or 2x2 cloth down, wet through and leave to dry.) Use tape to hold the crack together as it dries.
Once the epoxy cures it'll be as good as new and most likely never crack again. To repaint - ALSA Corp has a 'soft touch' clear coat system - it's a 3 part system (mix soft touch paint + thinner + hardener) and spray over the console in entirety to give the original rubberised coating finish (suede feel). The basecoat you can get any painter to mix up, it's a flat black system that's actually quite close to the duplicolor interior flat black (you'll need to rub back with 2000 grit to get a near finish) - the soft touch clear goes over this colour base. |
