Crash helmet (if paxing on Ring with driver wearing one)
Gloves - sweaty palms at 2000 miles not good for the alcantara
Sat Nav
Torque / socket
Jack
Tyre pressure gauge / Inflator

Consumables:

Oil - yes
brake fluid -option
brake pads-option
basic tool kit-option
Spare wheel / Cups - yes

Documents:

European breakdown cover is also worth considering if not on warranty and no RAC / AA Euro cover - i.e. ADAC
Warranty Documents - For those with BMW insured warranty....numbers are 0800 777 111 in the UK and +44 208 686 244 whilst in Europe
Passport
Travel Insurance
Europe medical card
Chunnel / Ferry docs
Hotel confirmations
Log Book / MOT (don't think necessary but worth taking)
Service book (may be requested for warranty claim)
Insurance documents - TELL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY ! - CCI requirement.
Money / Credit Cards
Toothbrush

'GB' displayed on the rear of the car, whether that be on a sticker or on your number plates.
European breakdown cover is also worth considering if not on warranty - i.e. ADAC
Breathalyser? (I think now legal requirement in France)
Bulbs
Crash helmet
BMW Driving Gloves
Sat Nav
Torque / socket
Jack
TELL YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY ! - CCI requirement.

Other things to consider taking are some consumables for the car:
Oil
brake fluid
brake pads
basic tool kit
Spare wheel / Cups
Passport
Travel Insurance
Money
Toothbrush
