Thumbs up

It looks amazing.
And I think it's back to being interesting (unlike the E92 M3 - please don't start with the Schirmer E92 M3s that are faster than a factory BMW MS E92 M3 GT2).

I am looking forward to drive this car.
I am sure it will be stunning.

Well done BMW M !

Alex,
The Schirmer cars are faster, but if you saw one up close, you'd see why - they're not something you would want to live with, they're dedicated track cars, being completely gutted and stripped out, so are over 250kg lighter than a standard car. Imagine what a weapon a CSL would be if you could remove 250kg .

Looks good. How does it compare for size with an E39 M5 I wonder?

Is it confirmed that there will be a CSL version? If so, I would be inclined to stick an order in straight away and worry later about how to pay for it. Based on the spec and the looks, I'm already in love.

I agree, but what it the does to the speed of the car is phenomenal - just look at the Japanese CSL that Digi posted up clips of - it has just done a a 58s lap of Tsubuka (a short 1.2 mile circuit) - albeit with changing from the SMG to a Quaife sequential 'box (and stripping every single thing out of the car and adding loads of aero - similar to what Schirmer does to their cars ). To put that into perspective, a standard CSL does 1:06

The point I was making is that when you do such drastic mods to a car, it is not unexpected for them to be faster than the full weight cars that the manufacturers can produce.

E90/92 M3 was a great car Alex, just too heavy. The engine was epic, true M style rev the knackers off it epic. Responded well to a tweak, easy 450/460 bhp. Also last N/A M car.

Best thing about the F30? They've finally realised it's weight problem. At last the weight is coming down! Not enough but it's the right direction.
