Default Buying a CSL

Hi, I am new to this forum.
I am about to buy a CSL but would like your opinion on whether I am crazy or not.

I found a left hand drive silver grey metallic CSL with aircon and CD, but not PDC, Xenon, big HiFi, so very light weight.

It has done just 33km ... Yes you read it right, not 3.300 or 33.000KM.

It has newer had an owner and has been kept in storage at a BMW dealer and all the plastic covering put on the car at the factory is still there.
It has been kept in a basement with no windows and cold.

I have a contact with BMW M-division in Germany and he said even though the car had never been driven, it would be just fine. Just change all fluids, paper filters, battery and tires.

The service recalls are still free of charge.

On mobile.de there are two CSL's with just one owner and in pristine shape, one with 21.000KM and one with 44.000KM on the clock, both priced at €80.000.

The price I can buy this one for where I will be the official first owner, is €72.000
The dealer will change all fluids, filters, battery and fit a new set of cup tires as part of the price and will give 3 months warranty on drive train.

BMW contact said "BUY, such car doesn't exist"

What do you think?

Sincerely,

Michael

Will you use it or is it going back into storage if you purchase?

Buy it and put it in storage, it will be worth a mint in the future.

As a matter of interest what VIN is it?

I think you need to decide do you want a CSL to drive it and enjoy it?

or

Do you wnat a CSL to keep in the garage and watch it's value rise in the future?

I don't think you can really buy this car and drive it too much.

Personally, I would prefer a cheaper CSL that I can drive all the time and enjoy it on the roads and on the track occasionally. This is what a CSL is all about imho

CSL would be no fun in the garage for me

Can it still be registered on the road, ie, will it still pass current new car emissions and crash regulations?

Thanks for all your replies and support of buying a 9 year old new car :-)

I think it will be very hard having a CSL in the garage and not drive it at all.

Maybe keep it for 5 years until the Americans can start importing them, they still moan about not being able to get them yet, and in the mean time drive it maybe up to 2.000 km a year in the summer months on dry days, so it will end up being a 10k KM with one owner in 5 years.

It was registered one month in 2006 as a training car for new drivers, bcause where EU legislation was changed or else it could not be registered today.
