Default Large balls up today :(

Fitting my brand new Michelin Pilot Super Sports I managed to damage a fookin sidewall

New tyre required.... To say I was pissed off was an understatement especially as I've fitted probably 500+ tyres and this is the 1st time I've ever damaged 1...

Sorry to hear this mate, that's a rather expensive mistake. I made one recently with my e90 M3 but will save that discussion for a drunken night on the anniversary tour in may. There will be beer wont there?!?!

Really sorry to hear that although I struggle to see how you could have damaged the side wall that much. Surely it is just a little nick and still workable - ?

Not worth the risk..... can you imagine full tilt on a lap of the Ring and it decides to let go

Anyway I was trying to work out the best way to get the tyre back off without damaging the rim as so I jigsawed it off in 3 bits.....lol

Or use the centre bit to retread a 175/80/13 tyre..... lol

Typical really as the cars in my garage on an axle stand after coming back after its subframe replacement, I'd have loved a run out yesterday in the sun really..

Thats why you nicked it, trying so desperately not to damage your rim. I have done the same on one or two tyres over the years. Shit happens though mate.
