The DP was using the car from day 1 and 'forgot' to hand it in for the service which I find a bit bizarre but there you go.

I have had no problems with any warranty work regarding my car in the 25K miles and nearly 4 years I have owned it. Regarding the Engine, I've had the Vanos unit replaced once but feel that this is nothing to do with the lack of 1200 mile Warranty.

Just my experience, that's all. I know come selling time, it might put a few people off but...am I thinking of selling anytime soon? Am I ****?
Exactly the same as me, mine was done at 2100 miles. People get really hung up about it, but I've never had ANY problems and I've had the VANOS done, two diffs, a clutch, a flywheel and gearbox work done, all under warranty and they've never flinched.

Ask about a letter from BMW (UK) stating that the late running in service won't affect warranty claims. My car was also the DP's car, Broadoak Ashford,
