So today the garage put front and rear M3 19’s on with Conti’s all round for a comparison, car felt totally different, much more planted and quicker to settle into corners, as it should.

I asked the garage if there had checked the tyre pressures, “yes”, was the reply. Anyway I thought I’d check the pressures on the way home with my CSL wheels reinstalled; turns out all four had the wrong pressure in (38-39 PSI) . Put the correct pressures in and it feels nearly as good as it did with the m3 wheels on, not quite as good, think the extra width is still throwing the handling out a bit.

The limiter kit made quite a bit of difference and I’d recommend it as a cheap upgrade.

So I plan to do plenty of track days and replace all 4 tyres with PS2’s or cups shortly

Next up, steering wheel re-trim
Moral of the story, check your own tyre pressures.
