And not forgetting that exhausts when used for a bit do tend to get a little bit noisier than when new.

And as shimmy stated, tests can be different from track to track, person to person.

The usual tester at oulton is an ok guy and the readings are usually lower if he does it.

One day one of the stewards was on noise testing duty, he was too close and exhaust measured higher, still passed.

It can depend on so many variables as shimmy says.
