Anyone recently had to get this looked at or can give advice? likely the old flanges will need to be cut off and the new ones welded on? this is not something BMW can do, i've been told

When I had my MILLTEK MK2 replaced with a standard O.E. CSL back box, one of the claps on the OE back box was missing, presumed snapped in two. My local tyre & exhaust place used a special Citroen type U shape (in profile) , round, thin, two half moon clamps that has worked wonders. I've done 500 miles since, including one Track day and it's as good as Original. No leaks and still firmly in place.
