For info my reading at the stationary check was 80dB taken @ 4500 rpm.

At Brands yesterday, my CSL's reading @ 70% RPM (5500 RPM) was 89 dB. That's with a standard O.E. CSL back box (different to a regular E46 M3 back box) but the Supersprint 100 cell cats + Stainless Steel mid section must have been liberating some of the sound. It's still very purposeful in action but relaxing and quiet on motorways and I can enjoy the induction noise more
I wonder what would have been if I left the light weight MK2 MILLTEK back box on ?!?!
IMHO, the louder the better is a "No! No!" ... my MILLTEK is proof of that.
