I was only thinking this the other day

I love all the history about Spa, it seems ridiculous sat here now, why I haven't been rooting round those old back roads, I'd like to see the Masta kink, where jackie stewart nearly lost his life back in 1966.......

Stewart losing it

The remains of his car after hitting a wood shed and a telegraph pole......

looking back as it is now

Graham Hill leading his team mate Rodriguez in 1962

Old Spa holds the record for the fastest avg speed - Spa still holds the record for the fastest sports car race ever run. Pedro Rodriguez and Jackie Oliver averaged 156 m.p.h. for 1000 kilometers including pit stops in 1971. The record is unlikely ever to be broken. Courses that could, like Le Mans and Monza, have been adding chicanes for the past 40 years.

Rodriguez leading Derek Bell in the '71 1000km.... but can you guess the corner

and this just because I like it.....

very telling....
