AP Racing and Elms

Just a quick thread to recognise some great service, as there are often legitimate complaints on this forum but not so many accolades.

First one goes to AP Racing, who have been spectacularly helpful even though I was a chump and fitted RS5 pads with the BBK I bought from them. First they found me replacement pads while I was at the 'ring, and then they have helped me isolate a problem with the retaining springs that were allowing my PFC pads to rattle (Shimmy, apparently the springs were distorted..). Then they shipped the springs FOC.

Second one goes to Elms, who have again provided excellent service when sorting out my alternator problem (among other things).

I won't mention that Gareth punctured one of my nice new tyres today. I also won't ask who it was on this forum that dinged the M135 that I could have had instead of the 3-series touring...

Screw didnt puncture but not taking any risks , youve brought it in for new tyres so thats what it will have .

To be fair anyone can get a screw in a tyre! Good to hear another story of perfect service from Elms as I'm in very soon for the first time & looking forward to the experts looking after my pride & joy!

Who crashed the loan car? :banghead:

On my way to Elms this morning to pick up my CSL. Service has been great from Gareth and Emma. It's been gone for 6-7 weeks, can't wait to pick up. :smt055

I've dealt with quite a few BMW, Porsche and Merc dealers over the years, the service from Elms has easily been the best. Independent garages are supposed to give that personal touch, I've used reputable Porsche Indies before, Elms again provides a better service.

Ha! Combination of a few things
- I dropped the car off a bit earlier than it was booked in for originally (I live over 2 hours away, so took the chance to take it there when I had some time free)
- CSL OEM Rear Box from BMW taking a long time to arrive
- me taking a while to sort out AP Racing parts from Questmead
- finally me taking my time to pick the car up

CSL goes back to Elms in March for the sub frame, I could have just left it with them but was missing it a lot. Drive home was enjoyable, no need for the radio on, just listened to the engine :smt055

Gregor, I did joke with Gareth about your puncture, that was bad luck for Elms but they'll sort it out. :)

My local dealer would have pumped the tyre up just before you arrived :bigcry:

3.5 hour trip for me to Elms... worth it to know its done right
