Just my bleeding luck

Driving home today and first thing was a speed camera went of but it was facing towards me on the other side of the road, i was going a bit fast and there were no other cars about but will this count of do you think its just knackerd ?

second thing on my way home i checked the oil level which was at +0.7L as always but then checking it again a bit later on during my drive it reads -.- odd, so when i got home turned the car off and back on again and +1.1 shows.
is the oil sensor on the blnk ?

do i have any thing to worry about as im off the luxemburg to mo and dont have time to get it sorted, i mean the oil is still in the car and it runs fine

also my induction flap has stoped working

The oil level can take upto 50 miles to sort its self out. Especially if you have been doing short journeys. Have you or a garage topped it up recently

if its a gatso (camera designed to take photo after you've passed it) not a forward facing truvelo camera then you'll be fine. they can go off, usually only flash once, instead of twice. cant get you. had this on the a1 up to edinburgh loads, nothing ever comes of it.

can do a quick oil reading, park on level ground, leave engine running for 1.5 - 2mins and with oil level showing on dash display press and hold the sport button. gives you a less accurate but instant reading. or just take the airbox off to check the dipstick and be sure?

while you're at that, take the flap out from airbox :supz:

I would stop off at a dealer and get 1L of oil for top ups just incase it shows low whilst on your trip, but I bet within 60 or 70 miles it shows +0.7 again, this system doesn't like loads of short journeys. As said above, take the flap out, there is a link on here somewhere,I'm sure someone will find it and post it up,ive been told its only a 10min job.;)

Jon - were you not at Elms recently ?

Mine just had Insp 2 and showing 1.1 - as said, takes a while to work through.

iv had the flap out for the last week but MPG went down to like 18 or maby im just driving like a nutta.

is there any legg in this chat that removing the flap can cause the head gasgit to blow or is that just bollox ?
