Hi Jim - Have we met?

No - not a csl this time.

You may have noticed / or not! a m3 touring that was recently advertised on ebay! Well - I couldn't resist!!!

Anyway - the base cars done quite a few miles and it's got awful cream and wood interior which is being replaced with m sport cloth and alcantara - I am also replacing the steering wheel! amongst many other bits!

It should hopefully work well as a daily for me and will have a tow bar fitted so can tow my track nail around and will do as a good back up should something fall off the nail!

It's allegedly got a csl engine fitted but I've yet tp be convinced on that one - the airbox went walkabout and it's running standard m3 induction, which i'm also hoping to change, maybe a few months down the line after I've got it looking sensible again.

Is that the Blue one that's based on a 330i SPORT Touring with M3 running gear which SOLD for quite a reasonable sum ? I was really tempted but my Domestic Line Manager (the wife  ) refused on my behalf to adopt another (read 4th car) into the Harvey house hold ... no matter how good or rare :bigcry: Her words... " You already have the CSL, don't you ? " Do'h :banghead: She's good :smt055

Pix of the E46 M3 Touring ... and the "Nail" pleeeeez

glol - I took a hard time on this one too!! She seems fine though now it's here and she does understand at least!!

I want to do my things to it before I start taking pics etc. There's lots about it that I don't like at the moment. The install itself seems good - the engine and gearbox feel very tight and as you would expect. I can't comment on the handling as the wheels are too f****g big for it and rub on the arches if you lean on it!

All I've done so far is drive it home and it's not moved since - I'm going looking at a new interior for it on Thurs night and I'm currently deliberating on what wheels to put on! Any recommendations or ideas welcome. I would like to keep the same size all round though as I like a little slip!

I have a mate who is a bm mechanic and he starts on it on Sat - he has plenty to go at!

My nail is away at the fixers and probably will be for a good month yet - that's a type r powered caterham in lambo green - I can't wait to have it hanging off the back of the touring!

I don't know if you will be able to see anything here http://batpics.dyndns.org/e/1094/mccann/tb846740.jpg

Just to give you an idea - that's not me sat in it btw - I can't condone those helmets!

Cheers

Rich
