Hi all,
Having spent the last 6 months out of the country pondering what 'sensible' sports car to purchase I decided it would have to be an Audi RS4 to complement my trackday prepped 968 club sport. Went and drove one the other day only to be hugely disappointed with what appeared to be an exec saloon with what felt like a mere 300HP rather than the full 420HP and not enough noise even with the sport button selected. Not what I had expected at all. Also tried an S5 but again not quick enough and too sober. So I took the trip to Munich Legends and had a quick go in a CSL. All thoughts of 911s or the Audis disappeared as I got above 5000 rpm and realised I need one of these in my life. I've spent hours reading threads here so I don't think you guys need to repeat all the buying advice on here. Just a few questions: Is anyone aware of this car - http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2175603.htm. It looks like what I am after but I would be happier knowing some history. The last inspection 2 service was done at BMW care in Bradford - anyone had any experience with these guys? What about nankang tires? Has anyone run theirs on these budget tires? I'll be using mine on the road only (well that's the plan) so I'm wondering if they would suit this. If anyone knows of a well looked after example for around 25k then I would be interested in a quick look. I want to take my time though and get the right car to become a summer only garage queen (Got £500 allocated for a mondeo hack). Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks Ed |
Hi Ed - welcome to the forum
I'm afraid that i do not know the car or dealer you ask about but one thing i would say is that the CSL does need better tyres than Nankangs! The 'budget' tyre of choice for a daily driver in all seasons tends to be the Falken 452 which is used by a fair few on here. Personally i would put Michelin Pilot Sport Cups on if you only intend to use it in the summer. Good luck with your search :smokin: Rob |
Hi Ed , welcome mate, that looks like a really tidy motor !

One small negative is the Insp2 done at an Indy will mean you can't strictly put the BMW warranty on it since that depends on FBMWSH. He says it has BMW warranty now, but if you come to claim on it and they check the history, you could be be stuffed.
Otherwise, the price seems OK if the car's a good one. |
