Service Indicator - 2 years
Probably a stupid question but does the service indicator take into account time elapsed or is it purely a mileage thing. I ask because I have passed the two year point and it still shows 4,000 miles to next service. Am I right in saying that the services should be every two years or mileage indicated which ever is the sooner - ?????
I have booked her in now anyway but just wanted to clear this up in my mind. Thank you Pip |
it seems to be a mixture of miles driven (as the indicator starts at preset miles between services) but then is affected by how hard the car is driven, rpm related maybe
i have heard that trackdays can serious shorten the period between service intervals ;) i dont think anything else comes into the equation |
I don't believe time is taken into account, and yes shld be serviced at 2 yrs intervals even if there are still green lights left.
Sure I read that the indicator works out how quickly you are burning fuel to determine the green lights, so yes track days would make a difference! |
service indicator is based on number of tanks of petrol put through the car. Or if you like fuel used. nothing else.

Having spoken to Murkett's about this a fortnight ago, the service's are due when the mileage shown elapse's OR at the 2 year point if your not at zero miles to the next service, nothing to do with anything else!

Cheers for that Dan (and Murketts). For some reason I assumed it would also build in the time factor it is a computer after all. I am a little late for my two year point but I only do 2,000 miles a year and most of it travelling to Nurburg (300 miles each way) and on the track itself.
