Gearbox paddle problems

Hi all
My car has recently developed a new problem, only the last few days, i can change up and down with the gear stick but when i try to change down with the paddle it doesnt go down a gear, the up paddle works though but it wont change down at all with the down one, anyone know what could be the problem with it?

Thanks

James.

Was this after changing the paddles or just occurred? Do you feel a click or nothing on the paddle?

Know exactly what this is , as mine did it.

Its the solenoid on the paddles gone , just let BM know and they will change under warranty, they did mine no issues:thumbs:

Thanks for the replies guys.

Karbonkid, this was with the standard paddles, not changed them before, there is a click and it sometimes changes down but most of the time not.

Daz, thanks mate, will book into the local dealer, it needs the breaks seeing to and an oil service soon too so will get the lot done.

Cheers

James

I had the same problem on my M3, covered by warranty or about £100(ish) if no warranty.

switch

Take the airbag out , spray a bit of wd40 into switch thats not working and work it in by pulling switch several times, That fixed mine and its been ok ever since.(switch is an open type and i think the dust and dirt get in there)

Hi mate
Thanks for the post, in the end it was a faulty micro switch, it was replaced under warranty
