COMPLETE SERVER FAIL :(
In over 10 years of web hosting I have only seen this happen twice!
I woke up to this today... Hello, The Hani Server is reporting failed hardware. Our Administrators are trying to bring the server back online. As a precaution we are setting up a new Hani server, it will be available in 90 minutes. The most recent backups for this server are corrupt and we are unable to use them for a restore. The restore for this server is dated 9 days ago. Any data that was on the server prior to 9 days ago will need to be uploaded. The backup solution we are using on Hani is a new system. This is the first situation we have seen with corruption of data on a backup. We will be reviewing all of our backups for corruption and make sure that this is not a situation for any further backups. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We do understand how important your hosting account is. Lunarpages Support |
That's terrible!
I understand hardware failures do happen but corrupt backups?? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have a job if I was to say our backups are corrupt and you've lost 9 days worth of data! |
Still it is up and running now
