poor new bmw splitters

Hi all,

Has anyone purchased new splitters from Bmw? I've had mine on for around 300 miles and they're delaminating where they've had little bits of gravel hit them. They look crap already. This is on the road not track driving.

It's as if there is only a very thin coat of lacquer on them. Are they meant to be lacquered when you get them or are they supposed to just be fitted as is.

My local stealer fitted them along with other work.

Regards, Raoul

I've got a new one from BMW and they are meant to be laquered before fitting, which is why you've probably had the issue with yours

Hi Petery, that was what I was hoping. Which dealer did you get them from and did they advise you of that? Is like to get it confirmed before I get back to my dealer.

send them to mark, BMW will not do as decent a job as mark. I still have my originals with BMW coating and they are shite! If I was in the UK I'd get mark to do mine every other year.

Hi digi,

I would but I've got to get them replaced first as one of them fell off and broke. When they get the new ones they will have to do it under warranty anyway.

BTW The dealer is Baron's in Hindhead. They are sh!#e.

Got mine from BMW Oxford they didn't tell me they needed doing but very obvious as soon as I unpacked one. I just laquered it myself with a quality laquered and then baked in the oven for 60min once done to harden it off.

I haven't driven the car since I've done so can't comment how well it will hold up to stone chipping
