Ctek mxs 5.0
 

Hi all, i have my car on a ctek 5.0 charger while it's sat in the garage. A week or so ago I checked the unit and the led display was lit to stage 7 which i think is correct - yesterday however it had dropped back to stage 3 - is this normal or is the battery duff? It a fairly new battery I believe.

Any help appreciated.

Unless power has been cut to the charger in the mean time, that shouldn't happen. It should stay up at top (ps if you open the car and work inside, the Ctek will show a drop straight away however)

Ive noticed it goes down just by unlocking the car.;)

Thanks guys, power has been constant and i only opened the boot to unplug the charger to move the car.

I just went through the cars documentation and can't find anything relating to the battery so I think I'm dreaming it's a newish unit. I read a lot of adverts during the search for a car !

Will plug it back in and check again in a week or so.

No problem - that's what it will do as the car is stationary.
Unlocking and opening the car will cause the blip. :)

What setting do you have it on?

If you have it on winter setting it will go through all stages of the deep cycling mode to keep the battery in good condition and keep going round and round.

As Shimmy said it shouldn't reset itself if you open the car or the boot, mine certainly doesn't.
