Pagid RS29s - fooked !!
2 Attachment(s)
Just for everyones' information following from a post I put out some months ago these are my RS29s from my front AP kit following 22 laps on the Nordschleife. As you can see they now measure 11mm including the back plate and are down to the rivets. They did not scratch the discs but I would suggest looking at the photographs that they will do very soon if reused. So in short I think 11mm is their finish point from the start of 17mm (incl.) or 18mm if you have discs worn enough to fit them.

Loads left on those.
I look to change at about this point. http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/...3/526cc21e.jpg |
They look ok to me pip, always take a spare set with you as the pads can break up with heavy use.

11mm including the back plate ?
This sounds like 6mm or less ? |

The brass rivets are designed to wear away with the pad material:beer: tis a worrying site when you first see them tho! |

Plenty of meat left on them :) |
Thank you to all, very informative. So I can basically go down further towards the (5mm - ?) back plate without damaging my discs. I do always take spares with me as a three hundred mile journey back from the Nordschleife with buggered pads is not my idea of fun. Surely 'we' do not all run them into the ground?
None of the other pictures looked like RS29s. What is everyone else using? Has anyone used Endless which are use by some of the Porsche track day attendees. Apparently they are very expensive but as the Porsche RS29s are twice the price of the CSL AP Racing ones then I am not quite sure how to take that. Pip Ps I may just bin them anyway....................:smt120 |
Just think of the environmental impact of disposing of only half worn pads, shame on you! :hahaha:
Recycle today for a better tomorrow - you could probably sell them on the bay or flutters - just bedded in! |
