Bucket seat advice

Hey guys,

My car is a daily but looking to fit a bucket seat on sliders. Narrowed it down to two seats at the moment.

Sparco pro 2000, Sparco frame and Sparco runners. (this seat can be base mounted onto runners) Allowing for it to sit lower than a side mounted.

Recaro Profi or pole position. Recaro frame recaro runners.

Until I can make arrangements for some VAC mounts.

Also another option is the Corbeau Pro series, But I have no idea on how these would mounts on runners, without modification.

Is/has anyone running/run any of the above? Are the recaro's much better than the Sparco's?

I know a seat can be a personal thing, subjective. But any feedback at all would be greatly appreciated.

Regards.

Not tried the Sparco's but have Recaro SPG which I have used for my M3 and another car.

Find the standard SPG a great fit but it is quite a bit narrower than Pole Position and slightly larger folks can't even get in the standard SPG so go XL.

I have the Recaro sliders & side mounts but the seat is far too high (even for a short arse like me) and would cause problems for taller people or if you had a cage. The Recaro kit comes with a 'spacer rail' so it sits higher but when I tried removing this (and bolting the side mounts direct to the sliders) the seat belt & tensioner fouled the tunnel.

Although it is high, at least the seat position is central.

Interested to hear how others do this as sat in StevenEK9's M3 with VAC mounts and although lower, the seat position was too offset for me.

Interesting stuff regarding the modification fouling the tunnel, Also didn't know that about the Vacs.

I too would like to hear some more feedback from those in the know. Thanks.

one vote for Corbeau pro range.

I have had the Corbeau revenge too which is a great seat.

can't go wrong with the recaro stuff either.

Are there any UK retailers of the Vac mounts?

fixed corbeau alloy mounts. Buy with seats from corbeau direct.

you can mount to runners but less secure and sits too high.

i was under the impression that the seat would have to be mounted on a slider for the purpose of MOT?
