Calling Supersprint exhaust system owners

My car has the Supersprint CATs and intermediate pipes on, but the standard back-box. I do have the Race back-box, but am unsure about putting it on, as I am enjoying using the car for long distance driving.

Obviously my question is, how much louder inside the car is it with this on? I don't want it to be any more boomy than it already is? Is it bearable?

I would think, that the previous owner had the dilemma, he obviously found the answer and reverted back to the OEM back box, to minimise the cumulative effects of the drone and hearing loss at speed - pardon! :-D

Everyone's different, he's gone to an Aston Martin, so obviously prefers something more cultured :gayfight:. I suppose I could fit it see what I think and just swap it back it it's too much.

I was just hoping for someone to comment that has it on their car and uses it regularly :blalalala:.

In my experience of a few different exhaust setups on my CSL, it is the 100 cell cats that contributed most to any increased noise/drone.

The Supersprint back box is loud, no 2 ways about it! Particularly on cold start, very raw sound indeed.

I've done a fair few motorway miles in a track prepped M3 though, and beyond a slight drone I cant say it bothered me that much. It was mostly noticable on acceleration. Its all down to personal preferrence at the end of the day. I know this particular car has race cats, and only just slips under the 105db test at circuits.

Its only a 1/2 hour job to slip it on (assuming the flanges are in reasonable condition), might be worth doing and see how you go.

I have the supersprint lightweight racing backbox, makes a huge difference to the sound of the car and tips are larger which looks good.

It can get a little loud at times, it depends how far down you keep your foot on the highway!

You think SS is loud...try this..

http://store.bimmerworld.com/bimmerw...ion-p1682.aspx

I have full SS system including headers and resonated centre....its fine on the motorway drones between 2000-3000rpm..
