Rubber - Eagles or Super Sports?

The CSL i'm buying currently has GY Eagles on it (rear tread approx 4mm), but have the chance to buy some used Super Sport's. Are the Sports better?

SS

SS are the better tyre but I wouldn't be buying second hand ones.
Just drive on the eagles until they need replaced then buy some new SS.

Cheers guys. The Sports are nearly new (7mm). How much is a full set - brand new out of interest? £1k?

Well they have a lot of life left in them in that case. Yes around 1K would be close to the mark.

Maybe I am just a bit skeptical when it comes to second hand tyres I dunno, they are the only thing keeping you on the road so I always buy good ones.

I just bought a new set of GOODYEAR, paid £710 for a full set I find them a good all round tyre and wear well, £250 + cheaper than the SS but everyone is diffrent

I have to agree with Yanto (2nd time today) that's the right way to do it if the budget allows, I'd still buy the Super Sports as they're almost new and keep until needed

Chris, that's what makes it so green, I can't imagine the West without it raining.
