Colour of track build

Ok cars going for paint next week on the interior.

Let's hear your thoughts on colour combo, so far I'm thinking :

Silver grey with black cage
Silver grey with dayglow orange cage
Alpine white with black cage
Alpine White with dayglow orange cage.

Exterior will be painted to match interior at a later date.

Codling 12-12-2011 10:50 AM

You don't work at co-ordsport do you? Only messing mate but these are the wheels I'm having from co-ordsport, seem to be the lightest and suit the e46 the best. Here's the pic that made me want them

:smt055 TE37SLs Volk Racing by Rays
On my Crimbo wish list as I'm currently in their home land :smokin:

shimmy 12-12-2011 05:52 PM

MAtt

What does SL mean.

Volks in Japan told me that the TE37 was old technology and not really suitable for cars 1400kg and above (too much flex) , hence the G2

White cars are fine if you live in Miami or if the car is Japanese, or you live in essex.

For the rest of the UK, I'd listen to Yanto. Battleship or frozen grey with dayglo orange cage would look the absolute business while remaining tasteful.

I saw a black CSL at the ring on german plates which had been stripped and had a dayglo green cage which also looked good. My friend would have bought it as it was for sale, however I warned him that those with lower engine bhp outputs were sprayed black :hahaha:

"Super Lap" according to their website... http://www.rays-msc.com/wheels/index.cgi?d=106
... scrole down and you'll see E90 M3/GTS, Skyline R34 GTR and all sort of Heavy (1400 kg +) Machinery ;) sitting/riding on them

All I know is I was told te37 flex more than the ideal amount on heavier cars on track hence G2.

Wheel specialist also told me stiffness is just as important as weight on rims (hence why BBS rims which can be quite heavy can also be good on track). Wat you gain in weight you can loose on flex.

I just wish I'd bought less bling ones

How long ago did U have that conversation Shimmy ? It's possible these TE37SLs are an improvement on the older TE37s. I'll shoot an e-mail across to Rays people in Osaka before parting with any of my folded stuff, that's for sure. Thanks for your info all the same

It's possible Matt, but looks like they just lightened them more.

It was January 2010.

Do you know if the old TE37s were "Mold Form Forged" as well ?

I'd say silver grey with red cage!

Codling 21-12-2011 08:59 PM

Car ( well what's left of it ) got collected yesterday for the interior paint and cage fitting. I'll be doing the underside then full exterior and engine bay paint later.

It's going to be a good Christmas ;)
