SMG dash display
I have noticed some CSL's have 'N' for neutral, mine has '0'.
Why is this? See below; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...10827-0959.jpg and http://img.photobucket.com/albums/06...s/P1000380.jpg |
I believe early CSLs have the '0' and the later CSLs have the 'N'.
The second pic shows Dan's dash display which is the same as mine and I believe our cars are only a couple of digits apart on the chassis number  Quote:

Its the smg software if I'm correct
N latest 0 older. Simpsons map the older software in as it's better gearchange etc I'm sure the softer n software is a damage limitation thing by BMW |

Correct, don't think the earlier dashes even have the diagonal elements needed to make an N.
My car says 0 and it had a new SMG ECU under warrenty a few years later to fix the slurring and remained showing 0. |
Bealos was the 0 and mine is N:thumbs:

Mine is early build with 0 as well. I've also had earlier SMG software on mine for 4 years. I noticed a significant change for the better when it was changed.

As mentioned before, it's an early version of software. We are fairly sure they pulled back the aggression on later versions and updated cars at service with those versions in an effort to stem warranty issues with clutch problems. Turns out there are not really any issues caused by the quick change and it's effect on wear. Most clutches never show any signs of wear at all. Problems were more to do with inadequate wear compensators and the self teach element of the clutch system promoting slur when people lifted of to smooth out gearchanges. |
DSC off with S6 is awesome! :smt055
