Be interested to hear your thoughts on comparison. Do occasionally think of switch the other way but scared I wouldn't get back to csl where I know history & condition aswell etc.

Very nice mate, where you from? That's a smart place to put the CSL to sleep in the evening. Beats my shed, for sure.
|
not sure if its the picture, but it looks like the CSL badge is too high.
i think the bottom of the CSL lettering should be inline with the bottom of the M3 badge :) car looks great! id also like to know where that is, nice parking!!! |
Now you mention it mate, look at the exhaust too... down quite a bit further on the Offside that the nearside... what would Lawsy say? ;-)

Hi Ahtim, good move. Glad your enjoying the CSL.

hi guys, btw i am from Hong Kong! nice to meet you guys! but i stayed in uk for 10years in the past.
both cars are good, but it serve different purpose, the new m3 is a much easier to drive(just like playing gt5), faster on straight luxury cruiser. the csl is a more more hardcore car, the handling, braking, steering and response are in 2 different world. the sound http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OsnuZTuPr-c My new m3 has full akrapovic exhaust on it, and during low rpm it is louder than csl, but when you compare the high rev, the csl scream louder. acceleration, i think the first 3 gear are very similar, but when it comes to top end, the new m3 are much quicker. Gearbox, i think the dct is like playing gt5, it is way too easy and friendly, it is not raw like the csl, this is purely my opinion really i am not regret at all, since my car is only for weekend, i have a 530 for work, and i think it serve the purpose right, plus a save quite a bit of money. |

which part of HK!!! there are some real nice cars out there  :smt055 |
I have gone opposite way. Both great cars, very similar but at the same time very different.
Csl feels "old school" compared to the e92. Csl out the box is far more motorsport than the e92 is. E92 with exhaust is a different car, the whole experience changes completely Whereas IMO the Csl needs nothing changing to be great The dct is a little detached compared to the smg, but fundamentally in performance terms is better. Smg feels cumbersome IMO at slow speeds. Smg is perfect at high revs, but lacks the finesse lower down. The dct is great througout the range giving kick in back in s6 at warp speed that smg does. We shall see at croft how the e92 fares on track against the Csl boys. Both cars have pro and cons, right now for me the e92 has more pros than the Csl does, I did say it was an itch I wanted to scratch and I'm currently scratching like a flea ridden mongrel :hahaha: I keep looking at Csl thinking I will return, someday I will, that's for certain. Biggest plus for me is cruise control:gayfight: Going to Germany is far easier cruising along with legs stretched out, the trip in the pork turbo was great because of this. :smokin: |

I bet having the luxury of A/C is nice as well  ;) :hahaha: |

I hope you don't start ripping the E92's A/C system out in an attempt to shaving off weight ;) :hahaha: |

Fuck that, it was scorching here today at Spa.....no a/c would be a PITA  |

Did you manage to get on Shim? Judging by lack of shouting, you didnt get a gd time? |

HAAAAAAA LOTS OF TRAFFIC But squeezed a 2m 52.6:whistle: SD Card filled up for last session :banghead: Overall I think sub 2m 52 is possible for me but in think sub 2m 51 would be very hard, need a perfect Lao and bigger balls  |

From my point of view, as my car is purely weekend/night drive car so i dont drive it at all during weekday or if it rains. For me i own the new m3 since 2008, and i truly think if it is for daily drive then you should choose the new m3, but for weekend/fast driving, you should pick the CSL.
Much more hardcore and raw BTW guys, as my car is all stock, i was thinking of changing the exhaust to a custom build header back straight pipe. what do you guys think? Quote:

I modded my exhaust, and removed the secondary cats, then fitted supersprint back boxes. This for me is perfect, anything more would IMO be too intrusive. I feel its the perfect balance. Attachment 4249 Attachment 4250 Attachment 4251 Attachment 4252 Attachment 4253 |

you should get AKRA if you have the V8 m3, it is the best exhaust you can get. totally different car after installed, the torque and the character of the engine are very different.
