helmets / snell 2005/2010

I'm buying a new helmet and Ive been told a Snell 2005 will not go out of date?? is this true and if so why bring out snell 2010

There is a fare price increase for the same model helmets with the newer snell.

Im going for a fitting on Friday (Demon Tweeks) and would like the info before the salesman get to me
also going for a hans, sport or club, undecided

I s'pose snell 2010 is just a better version of 2005, HSE boffins will always be looking to improve standards

shane@mbtech 29-03-2011 11:21 PM

It will be 3dr, sub £15k, bit of potential to make faster but keep ultra reliable.
Throw some coilies, brakes etc at it. And still be around the £15k mark if I buy sensible.
Im looking at some over the weekend.
Hope i find a goodun:thumbs:

Just want something chuckable, nice, quite quick, cheap to run/maintain, comfortable, and a few toys thrown in for good measure too.
Cant be arsed with 30k+ stuff now, got an extension on the house to sort:smokin:

northernjim 29-03-2011 11:28 PM

a big arsed megane? they do handle well straight out of the box....

I seriously looked @ a Nearly NEW Big Ass Megan R26R as an alternative to the CSL  when I was on my TD Toy hunt :smokin: As good as it gets for FWD IMHO and Ring Ready  out of the Renault box with the benefit of Manufacturers 3 year WARRANTY  Do they do a paddle shift / semi auto Big Ass Megan that Shane could pedal ?
I don't regret turning it down for the M3 CSL though :smt055 :

What MPG to these do Steve?

s.mac 02-04-2011 10:04 AM

I think 24 to 30, more on the motorway but she (wife) only goes to work and back, all of 5 miles. You interested Rob ? before I take it to my mates car pitch... we've had it 4 years (1st owner had it 2 months and he got a new job with a company car)
Ive been looking and they are up at 8k with this spec and mileage, 7k for the lesser models. So Ive pitched it in the middle.
Just had a look and showing 27mpg average.

RolyGTIR 02-04-2011 09:14 PM

Is a very tidy car and motors well - I remember the Daz Convoy solutions up the M4 for Xmas Curry meet!

glendog74 02-04-2011 11:24 PM

The Renault does look nice mate.

I'm just looking at options of what to replace the 328 with. Need something a little more frugal!
