Miss my CSL too much, so I bought a GSL...

Hi gents,

Richie from Australia...

I was once in carbon fibre automotive parts business a few years back, so I know all things CFRP and how manufacturers produce them and my wife sees me as a CF whore (don't know if it is good or bad) as I want everything in CF or at least wrapped in CF...

After selling the CSL about a year ago (to Marc on the board), I got on to a few different cars, it was a black 360 modena, then a wonderful organge Gallardo 6speed... and at the back of my mind, I still kept on thinking about how raw the CSL was compare to the other 2 cars that I have got ... and I missed those carbon fibre bits and pieces sooooo much that I started ordering carbon fibre parts for the 360 and Gallardo....

Even before those parts arrived for the Gallardo, the orange beast is gone and is replaced by the GSL.... and what's a GSL you might ask.... that's how I would call my new car... You will see the photos below the last orange gallardo I have (for those gents that haven't seen before)...

Previous car:

And as a carbon fibre addict myself, I have requested the dealership to change the entire centre console non-CF bits to OEM CF pieces as well as the cluster face.... An OEM sat nav is also being added into the car.... those should turn out well I hope...

The car will be completed next week sometime for delivery, but I will not be bringing it back home for a few weeks due to new driveway construction at the new home... but will share a few more photos soon...

Enjoy them and going back to work again while you gents in the UK are asleep

cheers,

richie

I forgot to add I love Superleggeras but always felt the doorpanels should have had some alcantara on the edges to break up the CF (more in the sytle of the CSL ones).

Simply stunning car, I am sure Radders had one of these in the same colour. Its funny how so many people miss the CF when they own a "normal" looking car.

I actually prefer more CF... the more the better... lol.... I guess that's why they just used a small alcantara strap as a door pull to break the full CF door panel scene...

That's the 2008 Superleggera... the new one will cost me around $AU 600K... my car only has around 7700km on the clock... still smell/feel like a brand new car :smt055

Richie you need to buy yourself a Zonda ... those are like Carbon Fiber heaven - I am sure you'll explode with joy

By the way, can I buy a ticket (jetstar thrifty flights) and swing by and go for a ride?

Congrats on the new car!!

Fasteddie 06-08-2010 08:58 AM

Owwwww [in the style of Cat from red dwarf] That is a mean MoFo, love it. Is the new drive mirrored so you can admire the underside?
Like it, lots. Now how are my investments doing?
