Which time you go BTG?????

alexk 26-07-2010 05:40 PM

Someone told me that it was there... number 4 ?

BTW, does it have brembo brakes like the prototype or does it have Fuchsrohre-best-thing-after-drum-brakes-single-piston-brake-solutions

I don't usually time myself around the Ring but a few of my regular passengers have reported low 8's ;) so more practice required for that elusive sub 8 minute balls out lap

More like " DIET " my CSH ;)
Don't forget I'm doing these times on standard suspension that's done 70K + miles, medium size Brembos @ the front only + a very heavy stock back box :bigcry:
No KWs , no AP racing Monster anchors or Supersprint lightweight exhaust
Lightweight solutions require urgently  Thank U please

They've come out great Matt, considering they were taken on your iPhone wannabe ;) Nah, great piece of kit that. I want!

Glad I caught a glimpse of the GTS but was disappointed I couldn't get a closer look at it in the car park.

I always did, i think you are talking about the up hill back straightish, that was close, sorry! :( I was on ps2s on saturday, so was a little slow and not that confident. But put the R888s on sunday, and managed an 8:30ish for my 24th/last lap at the ring. I know I can push it more on some of the corners, but my moto all weekend was, "dont crash, dont crash, dont crash" lol

I have to say, what an awesome track, once you know where you are going and you grow some balls to take some of them corners without braking! I dont think I want to do any uk trackdays anymore, just the ring!

Shame about the grey M3 with the big yellow ring logo on the side, crashed just before it started raining on sunday :(

twiti111 27-07-2010 01:44 PM

The grey is a friend of mine! And we where together on track with my csl!!!
But the grey is a normal E46 M3!!!

Don't U worry about me ;) :hahaha: just make sure U watch your mirrors like a hawk next time U're out @ the RING and let others (who know where they are going and are who are much faster then U) through, THANK U please

That was some appoling driving you displayed on Saturday, lucking etiquette and common courtesy :clown: Not only did U hold Alex K up but also U held me and Richard (Flatout) too, all on the same lap :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: DOH !!! And there was me, thinking U were a safe pair of hands on Track after seeing some decent Track discipline from U @ Snetterton previously

Mate, I had slow cars in front of me, holding me up and they werent letting me pass. Well, richard knows about not letting people pass on track on purpose.....What was his moto "I dont let no one pass me on track".

... not when I was behind U though, trough at least 3 bends :banghead: plus U had nothing to your right  where U should have moved over to
When I eventully muscled my way pass, U didn't bother easing off your throttle either :axe: Red miss was clearly visible from where I was sitting :smt096
I can't speak for everything Richard does but I do know for a fact he lets FASTER  cars pass @ the Ring. :smt045

Easy with the smilies :thumbs:I must of eased off the throttle, or else how would you of passed me. Remind me where you passed me again? Wasnt it on the back up hill straight?

Anyways, I had a female passenger in the car, i didnt wanna look too lame :hahaha:

:hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha: ... here come the excuses :gayfight: :gayfight: :gayfight:
I don't remeber where I overtook U, it's not really the point. U were seriously holding everyone up :banghead: that's the point.
Local knowledge is KING ;) and having a faster, real-deal CSL is how I passed U :smokin:
I had a passenger with me too and we were reading the weekend papers while waiting for U to make the right move :hahaha: :hahaha: :hahaha:

I guess when a female passenger enters your car, common sense leaves.
As a start, your car is no way faster than a CSL, don't forget that.
Also, you didn't ease off AT ALL and you were struggling to go faster.
The back-end of your car was very nervous, which clearly showed that you were driving very nervous trying to 'get away'.
If you are running PS2s, it's understandable but move to the side because we are running semi slicks.
All these seem ok when you are trying to prove something (to yourself or someone else) but when nasty accidents happen it's really bad.

I and many others visit this place to have fun and don't have to prove anything.
I personally go full to the right and slow down when a faster car is coming. In that way he is not annoyed, I am not annoyed (I can continue my lap as soon as he overtakes me) and everybody is happy.

On a serious note ... very well said Alex
We all go to & around the Ring to have fun, not to piss others off by careless driving :banghead:
It's a seriously serious place that doesn't need any more Armco deformation then it already receives :smt009
If Barris wants to race others then there is the "CSL Cup" where his CSLfied, regular M3 will fit right in.
Just remember, the CSL CUP guys are SUPER FAST :supz:

Depends on the driver of the CSL. Its hard work driving when you have to use more than 1 arm and 1 leg:thumbs:

Give me a break, it was my first day out at the ring in the dry. I went last year, and it was wet and not fun at all :(

I knew the next day, once i put the semi slicks on, that the difference in handling was night and day. For one thing, i stopped braking for the foxhole and a few other corners that shit me up on the ps2s. If i knew the difference was so massive, i would of let you guys pass me much earlier. Sorry fellaz

Mate, dont rub it in, you and richard werent exactly driving sensibly at snetterton. And im not just talking about a small part of the track, im talking about 5 or more laps, when you guys didnt move over for the "faster car" behind you.

There is no need for bull... as far as I remember (it's been quite a while) I let U and every other fast car through as I don't believe in holding anyone up
If I unknowingly held U up, I apologise :thumbs:I don't believe there is room for two cars @ Russel or into the Esses
Strange U are having issues with that now, some few months after the event ???

XKaLiBaR 27-07-2010 04:03 PM

Nothing to do with me, as it wasnt me you were holding up, just a mate who is very quick. It was mainly richard he moaned about, as it was the 2nd time at snetterton he wouldnt move out the way for him, even after being flashed. I remember last year, i flashed him for about 8 laps, and he wouldnt move out the way. I had to wait till his brakes and tyres got hot and he did a cool down lap to pass him.

Sorry fellaz

Driving the Ring in the wet with 300 + BHP rear wheel drive takes some courage and consideration :119: but it's fantastic for car control, something I believe from previous posts, U appreciate  Semi slick tyre solution is the way to go @ the Ring :supz: in the dry :supz:
BTW Apology accepted ;)

XKaLiBaR 27-07-2010 04:14 PM

I dont mind the wet, but not at the ring. I used the TC, and it becomes pointless, and fucks up the brakes. I fully enjoyed Spa last year, when it chucked it down, and you couldnt see the car in front.
Go karting on slicks in the wet, is much more fun :supz:

Sounds like CSL envy ;) :hahaha: For the record I use both of my arms/hands/legs to drive my CSL  left hand for left SMG shift paddle and right hand for right SMG paddle + left foot trail braking and right for GAZ... so what's your real excuse ;)
