Cracked BBS Wheel

I just changed my tyres on my BBS wheels when I notice a small crack on the inside of the tyre bead. You can see from the photos that the wheel has never been kerbed or refurbished.

What do you reckon my changes of a goodwill claim from BBS is ?

That's not good, surely they will do that as goodwill as clearly no kerbing .. and its simply a failed part .. deffo worth pushing

DuncanR 11-06-2010 08:57 AM

How old are they T$ ? Defo product failure there mate, stress fracture not impact, they should cough up. Knowing you ..as I do, you have checked the others abd they are fine ...yes?
Are you the first owner of them T$? so you can prove wheel ownership/history from purchase ?

Dan 11-06-2010 09:04 AM

That's a shame as I was 99.9% on buying these, didn't know they cracked or is that a one off?

Incidentally is that a front or a rear as I know you run 9J on the front don't you? :)

T$ is still capable of causing them ...crack wheels or not !:hahaha:

Looks like it was still just about holding air was it ? If crack had been any longer and it would have gone flat. ... crack ! what a great word !

SachaR 11-06-2010 11:38 AM

Catch 22 situation, I was just about to change them anyway... they had a couple thousand miles left in them and the garage knew this plus the owner of the garage is planning to buy my R1 powered mini, so I cant have to much of a go at him...... unless he doenst buy it!

Bealo 13-06-2010 01:07 AM

Might have a look at them but was impressed with the PS-2's on Glendogs car.

But that could have been his superb car control and not the tyres

+1

I was right outside the BBS factory this friday btw.

I remember that I filled in the warranty form for my set of BBS CHs and it was clearly stated that BBS will replace any wheel that got damaged when it was properly used (you didn't crash it, smash it etc).

Did you get any answer yet ?
I remember one more case of a BBS CH wheel that cracked in the same way.
I don't remember where I saw it :(

Craig 14-06-2010 11:30 PM

Havent read the rest of the topic, but that cracking is the same as I had on a standard BBS CSL rim that hadn't been marked either!!
