great tyres too, the road legal race version of the tyre on my Strad....

They are good prices, what are the tyres like compared to cups.

alexk 31-03-2010 05:12 PM

The M3 GTS prototype uses them.
BMW M engineer said that they have to use them because the cups don't meet some environmental regulation (and it would be good to stock cups because they won't be produced in the near future - what shimmy has done basically).

Que panic Cup buying outbreak!:hahaha:

M5 Powered 31-03-2010 05:36 PM

It will be some new EU legislation on energy usage I bet.

The energy consumed to produce a Cup Tyre verses life (mile usage) will be horrific.

Still, not as if we don't already pay enough for them. I wouldn't panic just yet.

Well I know it since November and didn't panic yet.

We will manage... I think

So whos brought a set? Be interesting to see how they perform. Cheap enough to give em a go and throw.

Curly 01-04-2010 09:11 AM

I had a set off them for the M3 last year good value for the money but they are old stock and the rubber's a bit hard not quite as grippy as a cup and they only had one side,so your running two tyres the wrong way

$w!ft 01-04-2010 02:49 PM
